Hope Huskey is Director of Program Development for Sequoyah Fund, Inc. Hope joined Sequoyah Fund in 2012. Prior to her current position she worked for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians Enterprise Development Office for 8 years assisting in small business development. For the Sequoyah Fund, Hope is responsible for developing programs to grow the small business community in Cherokee and Western North Carolina and promote financial education throughout the region. Current programs include the Financial Wellness Program which works to educate loan clients and community members in credit building and budgeting and savings; the Youth Entrepreneurship program which works with area students to promote entrepreneurship and financial literacy through business plan competitions, a summer youth camp, and one-on-one activities in the area school systems; and working with Sequoyah Fund staff to develop training and business related programs to grow the regional small business community. Hope has extensive knowledge in small business development. She serves on the Board of Directors for WNC Minority Enterprise Development Week and the Cherokee Chamber of Commerce.Hope is an enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. She holds a B.A in Literature from UNC-Asheville and a Masters of Project Management from Western Carolina University.
